Journal's Responsibilities

Journal’s Responsibilities

The Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, as the managing entity of JOSVTE, require the editors to abide by the COPE Code of Conduct for the Editors. JOSVTE values the relationship between the journal, editor and other parties and prioritizes privacy, intellectual property and editorial independence.

The journal editors set journal policies appropriately and aim to meet such objectives, particularly to:

  • Editorial independence includes research ethics such as confidentiality, consent, and the special requirements for human and animal research.
  • Authorship: Transparency and integrity including conflicts of interest, research funding, and reporting standards.
  • Peer-review and the role of the editorial team beyond that of the journal editor.

Appeals and Complaints

Journal editors must communicate the journal's policies to authors, readers, and peer reviewers, review these policies periodically, and maintain the integrity of the academic record. They should also assist parties responsible for investigating suspected research and publication misconduct and facilitate the resolution of such cases wherever possible. Additionally, editors must publish corrections, clarifications, and retractions promptly.
